Kaneko Hannosuke Thailand: Nihonbashi’s Legendary Tendon Specialist at Siam Paragon
This is their third branch in Bangkok. The secret behind their reputation as Japan’s #1 Tendon shop lies in their authentic Edomae Tendon, recreated using a secret sauce passed down from the founder’s grandfather. Known for its generous portions and exceptional value, it’s a restaurant that continues to draw long queues even in Japan.

A lavishly topped bowl of authentic Japanese Edomae Tendon at Kaneko Hannosuke, featuring a variety of crispy tempura and secret savory sauce.

The reason Kaneko Hannosuke is celebrated as the best in Japan is its unbeatable value—a perfect harmony of a time-honored recipe, a legendary secret sauce, and massive portions rooted in the traditions of the Edo period.

Our Commitment to Tendon

Kaneko Hannosuke was an actual historical figure born in Asakusa. He was a master of Japanese cuisine who truly believed that “The soul of Japan lies in its food.”

The family’s “Enma-cho” (secret recipe book) passed down to his grandson, Shinya Kaneko, contained the closely guarded method for their secret Edo-style Tendon sauce. After years of trial and error using this legendary recipe, the perfect Tendon was finally achieved—a bold and magnificent representation of the “Edomae” spirit.

Using this secret Tendon sauce and through repeated trial and error, the Tendon was finally completed. It was a magnificent representation of Edo-style. I wanted many people to enjoy this Edo-style Tendon at an affordable price, so “Kaneko Hannosuke Tendon” was born.

REVIEW

From the very first bite of the piping-hot, freshly fried tempura, I was genuinely amazed. “I never imagined a fried dish could highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients so beautifully!”

The fragrant frying oil is of exceptional quality, maintaining the same high standards as in Japan. What impressed me most was the incredible value for money. To offer this level of quality in such a premium location is a testament to their immense dedication. This is, without a doubt, the most delicious Tendon in Bangkok.

Recommendation

  • Edomae Tendon (490B): The absolute classic—you can’t go wrong! The conger eel (Anago) was spectacular.
  • Special Premium Shrimp Tendon (570B): Pure bliss for shrimp lovers.
  • Kaneko Hannosuke Tendon (590B): A Bangkok Exclusive. A lavish bowl featuring white fish, two shrimps, salmon, seafood kakiage, greens, onsen egg, and nori.

Be sure to give it a try!!
